Park Party Rentals

Planning a Party at a Park? Here’s How It Works

Permits, insurance, power, and pickup, all in one place so party day goes smoothly.

Parks make a great spot for birthdays, family reunions, and community events. There’s plenty of room, shade trees, and space for everyone to spread out. The catch is that a park party takes a little more planning than a backyard party. Most parks want an approved permit and proof of insurance before anything gets set up, and some take a few weeks to say yes.

The good news is we handle the insurance side for you. We carry the coverage parks ask for, so we can set up at parks in the towns we deliver to. That includes County of Lake parks, Hidden Valley Lake Association parks, City of Clearlake parks, and parks in places like Santa Rosa and Ukiah.

One heads up before you pick a park: not every city allows inflatables. The City of Lakeport, for example, does not. A park in Lakeport that’s owned by the County of Lake is fine, though. If you’re not sure who owns your park, just ask us.

How a Park Rental Works

  1. Make sure the park allows inflatables. Some cities, like the City of Lakeport, don’t.
  2. Reserve your spot at the park. Ask the park what they need for a permit.
  3. Book your rentals with us. Let us know it’s a park party and which park.
  4. Submit your permit to the park. It needs to be approved and on file before your event.
  5. We send our insurance. We submit our Certificate of Liability Insurance to the park for you.
  6. Give it time. County of Lake parks can take up to 30 days, since their legal team double checks the insurance.
  7. Plan your power. Parks don’t have outlets for inflatables, so you’ll need a generator.
  8. Enjoy the party. We deliver and set up, and someone from your group stays until we come back for pickup.

Park Rental Rules

These are the things we need from every park party. Please read them before you book so nothing catches you off guard.

Permits and Insurance

  • The park has to allow inflatables. The City of Lakeport doesn’t, but County of Lake parks inside Lakeport do.
  • Your permit needs to be approved and on file before your party.
  • Your permit will usually list a spot or general area in the park. We set up inside that area, so please send it to us when you book.
  • We’ll send our Certificate of Liability Insurance to the park owner.
  • Some parks need at least 30 days to approve. If you wait too long, the park may deny your event, so the earlier the better.
  • Once you move forward with us, we let the park know so they can confirm our insurance.
  • If you cancel after your permit is approved, we let the park know and ask them to take our insurance off.

Park Fee

  • Park rentals include a park fee. It covers the paperwork and back-and-forth that goes into keeping your permit on track.

Generators

  • Every park rental needs a generator, since parks don’t have outlets we can use.
  • Renting ours? It comes with a full tank of gas, and our crew starts it for you.
  • Bringing your own? It needs to be at least 3500 watts. We don’t supply gas for it or start it, so someone from your party needs to be there at setup to get it running. Our crew will hook up the extension cord.
  • If no one’s there to start your generator when we arrive, we’ll head to our next delivery and come back once someone is available. That can push back your party start time.
  • We aren’t responsible if a customer’s generator breaks down or runs out of gas, and we can’t give refunds for generator problems.

Water Slides

  • Most parks don’t allow water, so water slides usually aren’t an option. No parks in Lake County allow them.
  • A few parks in other areas may allow them, but only with the park’s approval.

Staying Until Pickup

  • Someone from your party needs to stay at the park until our pickup crew arrives, even if the party wraps up early.
  • Done early? Give us a call or text. If the crew can swing by sooner, they will, but they’ll still finish their scheduled deliveries and pickups first.

Picking Your Setup Spot

Your inflatable goes inside the area listed on your park permit. Within that area, look for the flattest spot you can find and clear away any rocks, branches, or trash.

Parks don’t allow stakes in the ground, so we use sandbags to anchor everything at parks. Let us know if you’ll be on grass or a hard surface when you book.

Getting From the Truck to the Spot

Our inflatables weigh a couple hundred pounds or more, so we need a clear path from where we park to where it’s going. Most bounce houses need about 3.5 feet of room to get through. Bigger units like obstacle courses need 4 to 6 feet.

We can’t go up more than 3 steps or down a steep path, and any slope needs to be paved. If our crew decides the path isn’t safe, the rental fee still applies, so try to pick a spot close to where a truck can pull up.

Water Slides at a Park

We get this question a lot. Most parks don’t allow water use, so water slides usually aren’t possible, and no parks in Lake County allow them. A few parks in other areas might, but it’s up to the park to approve it.

If you have your heart set on a water slide, ask us before you book. If the park says no, one of our dry bounce houses or combos is a great backup.

If the Weather Turns

We don’t deliver in the rain. Wet inflatables get slick and aren’t safe to jump in. If rain is in the forecast, you can cancel up to the morning of your party with no weather cancellation fee. If it starts raining once the party has started, we can’t offer a refund.

Our full weather and cancellation policies are on our FAQs page.

Your Park Party Checklist

  • Check that your park allows inflatables.
  • Reserve the park and find out what their permit needs.
  • Book early, especially for County of Lake parks that take up to 30 days.
  • Tell us it’s a park party so we can send our insurance.
  • Send us your permit area so we know where to set up.
  • Plan on a park fee for the permit paperwork.
  • Sort out power. Rent our generator, or bring your own that’s 3500 watts or more, plus gas.
  • Have someone there at setup if you’re using your own generator.
  • Stay until pickup, even if the party ends early.
